John Glossner, General Program Chair,
Wireless Innovation Conference SDR'11,
Washington, DC, 2011

The project is aimed at the development and practical implementation of the new generation adaptive antenna for mobile communications networks and Wi-Fi hotspots. The proposed antenna is based on a digital active phased array with adaptive multiuser beam-free algorithm. It does not use beams for the space division. Instead the antenna elements receive signals from all directions and a special mathematical algorithm selects desired signals with the best signal-to-noise ratio. Such technology is more efficient than the traditional beam forming. It allows operating with larger number of users in the same time-frequency slot and improving radio channel quality. The project has received several diplomas and awards at the scientific conferences and competitions including AP-RASC (Japan), MMET (Ukraine), "Telecom Ideas" (Russia), NRU Higher School of Economics "Open competitions of innovation projects" (Russia).
